Commitment to Safety
At Cyclesmith Track Days our mission is to provide a safe track environment where the average rider can enjoy their motorcycle at speed, improve riding skills and continue to build confidence and knowledge in the sport.
Cyclesmith has been running trackdays for over 3 years and has a reputation for running very organized and safe trackdays.
We cater to the first time track day rider, as well as the responsible veteran rider that knows his or her limit. In order to maintain the safest riding environment possible we have developed a simple set of rules and etiquette
Passing Rules:
We do not allow any inside passing from the tip in point to the apex in any of our groups. Outside Passing is always allowed unless otherwise stated at the rider’s meeting.
We understand that “tip overs” can happen at a Track Day, but there is no excuse for taking someone else with you. Most of the people that ride with us do so because of the environment we’ve created. They appreciate that they are not going to be on the track with a bunch of kids trying to be the next Valentino Rossi. Our average rider is a mentally mature and responsible motorcyclist that wants to have fun and improve their riding skills.
Rider Etiquette:
To encourage a more relaxed and “fun” environment for all riding levels, we expect the following of all riders:
- This is a NON competitive event. No “racing” or “dicing” with friends or other customers will be tolerated. Riding together is fun, but not if you are trying to barge your way past to prove a point.
- Give other riders space when passing. How much space varies as you progress up the groups, but crowding and pestering a rider you are trying to pass is dangerous for both parties. Once past, do not cut in front to retake the line. Continue to give that rider some space by maintaining your passing line.
- Stunts of any kind (wheelies, stoppies, etc) are not allowed. As much as we love wheelies and stoppies, the goal here is to get around the track (and pits) as smoothly and safely as possible. As soon as you lift a wheel, no one can predict where you are going, or how fast. Collisions are likely.
- Do NOT chase down another rider who you are upset with either on track or in the pits. Please take a few minutes to talk with a staff member and we will talk it out. Nothing good comes from conflicts on motorcycles.
- Be reasonable. If you are unable to listen to staff and other riders and adjust your riding behavior, you will be asked to leave and may be banned from future events.
